As of the end of September 2023. A report has determined that 578 operators in 173 countries and regions around the world are investing in 5G.
What is a 5G network?
5th Generation Mobile Communication Technology, referred to as 5G. This is a new generation of broadband mobile communication technology with high speed, low latency and large connection characteristics. 5G communication facilities are the network infrastructure that realizes the interconnection of humans, machines and things.

As of the end of September 2023. A report has determined that 578 operators in 173 countries and regions around the world are investing in 5G. Investment methods include piloting, purchasing licenses, planning, deploying networks and commercialization.
In:
-290 operators in 113 countries and regions have launched or piloted 5G mobile services.
-13 operators have announced soft launch (or trial operation) of 5G networks.
Looking at the first two quarters of data in this report, the quarter ended in September. Global 5G network investment and new commercial deployments were significantly higher than the previous two quarters.
In the quarter ending September, 43 new operators globally invested in 5G. This compares with 11 in the quarters ended June and nine in the quarters ended March.
